Measles Case Confirmed In Portland Metro Area

Laboratory testing confirms that the person with measles traveled in and around Portland and Beaverton between July 30 and Aug. 6.
Measles is highly contagious and usually spreads via coughing and sneezing.
âThe bad news is that measles is a serious disease, the good news is that if youâve been vaccinated youâre well p rotected,â said Dr. Paul Cieslak, a medical director at the Oregon Health Authority. âThis is the second time this summer that someone arrived in the Portland area sick with measles.â
