WWE: Triple H Shares Photo of Massive Bruise Ahead of Pectoral Surgery

Triple H shares a photo of the massive bruise he's sporting as a result of suffering a torn pectoral muscle at WWE's Crown Jewel event last week. Whatever one might think of his decision to marry into the McMahon family and become a WWE executive, there's no doubt that Triple H is truly one of the greatest performers of his generation. He's taken part in some truly epic matches, and delivered some of the most emotionally convincing promos in the business. He's gone to war with just about every modern WWE legend one could think of as well, including The Rock, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, The Undertaker, Dave Bautista, and of course his best friend Shawn Michaels.

Just based on his accomplishments as an in-ring performer alone, Triple H would be a first-ballot WWE hall of famer, and that's not even considering that he's currently leading WWE into the future via his NXT developmental brand. Unfortunately, HHH has also sustained a large amount of injuries over the course of his long career, and any professional athlete can confirm that advancing age usually makes them even more susceptible to getting hurt.

That's exactly what happened to "The Game" this past Friday at WWE's highly controversial Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia. Putting aside the real-world scandal caused by the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi by the Saudi government, Crown Jewel ended up being seen by fans as a below average event when it came to quality. Trying their best to liven up the show in the main event were HHH and Shawn Michaels, who were taking on The Undertaker and Kane in a tag team match. During the match, Triple H suffered a torn pectoral muscle, an injury that will require months of recovery time. Earlier tonight, < a href="https://twitter.com/TripleH/status/1059606261220761600" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">the "King of Kings" took to Twitter to share a photo showcasing the absolutely horrific large purple bruise he's currently sporting, before heading in for surgery tomorrow.

Wow, that's one scary-looking bruise. Of course, this isn't necessarily the worst injury Triple H has sustained over his wrestling career, as he tore both his quad muscles on separate occasions, and also tore his bicep. A big question right now is whether this pectoral tear will keep HHH from competing at April's WrestleMania XXXV, the biggest event of WWE's yearly schedule. It wouldn't be the first time he's missed a WrestleMania, but that still wouldn't make doing so any less of a letdown for both him and his fans.

Interestingly, rumors have been circulating for weeks now that Triple H was set to face old rival and Evolution teammate Dave Bautista at WrestleMania. The renewal of their long-standing feud was teased in October, during SmackDown's 1000th episode celebration, which saw Bautista remind Triple H that for all the latter's accolades, he's never beaten "The Animal" one-on-one. If HHH is forced to miss the show, one wonders if a replacement opponent for Bautista will be found, or if he'll simply cancel his WWE return plans and go back to Hollywood.
