Pete Davidson decided to say some kind words about ex-fiancée Ariana Grande on âSaturday Night Liveâ after previewing âThank U, Next.â
As Page Six previously reported, Grande revealed that she let exes Big Sean and Ricky Alvarez preview her single prior to its release, which took place 30 minutes before âSNLâ aired, but it was unclear whether Davidson received the same treatment. But according to TMZ, Davidsonâs kind words about the âBreathin'â songstress were a result of him hearing the track early, too.
He reportedly ran his few lines by showrunner Lorne Michaels, who gave him the OK. Davidson went on to describe Grande as a âwonderful, strong personâ and wished her all the happiness in the world. In the days leading up to the anticipated episode, it didnât seem Grande and Davidson were on the best terms.
In a promo ahead of Saturdayâs episode, Davidson poked fun at his failed engagement to the âGod Is a Womanâ singer by proposing to musical guest Maggie Rogers.
Rogers, 24, declines and Davidson responds by saying heâs â0-3,â poking fun at his failed relationships, which include Cazzie David.
âFor somebody who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh,â Grande wrote in a since-deleted tweet. âthank u, next.â
