Maricopa County recorder: Multiple polling places experiencing issues as polls open

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) âˆ' Polls all across Maricopa County and Arizona opened at 6 a.m. on Tuesday but some Valley locations are already experiencing issues.

According to the Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes, they have three polling places that are currently down.

Polling places opened in Arizona at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Fontes says they were having a building access issue at their Gila Precinct in Chandler. The building was foreclosed overnight.

Fontes says the building was up and running at 7 a.m.

Voters were being advised to go to the Chandler City Hall Center at 175 S. Arizona Avenue until issues were resolved.

Two other polling places include Sunland Village in Mesa and St. Nikolas Serbian Church in Phoenix.

Fontes says both of those were experience technical problems. St. Nikolas Serbian Church was up and running by 7:15 a.m.

Voters experienced long lines at a polling place near 32nd Street and Union Hills Drive.

Several viewers have expressed their displeasure at long lines and issues at several other locations but Fontes could not confirm all of the problems.

Locations with viewers reporting issues:

- Queen Creek Library: 21802 S. Ellsworth Road

- North Valley Baptist Church: 2109 E. Rose Garden Lane

- Ahwatukee Recreation Center: 5001 E. Cheyenne Drive

- Shiloh Community Church: 19021 N. 32nd Street

- Trevor G. Brown High School: 7402 W. Catalina Drive

- Deer Valley Airport: 702 W. Deer Valley Road

- Dove of the Desert: 7201 W. Beardsley Road

This isn't the first time voters have had issues in Maricopa County this year. Many experienced problems while attempting to vote during the 2018 Primary Elections. Fontes has affirmed that those issues have been corrected.

Polls will be open until 7 p.m. today.
