Good Monday morning! Temperatures will range from the mid 40s to the low 50s, so you may need the light jacket out the door. You will want to bring the rain gear too just in case. We have the chance of seeing a few showers throughout the morning and strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon.
Another frontal system will move through the area tonight and there will be the chance of seeing some severe storms. The Storm Prediction Center expanded the slight risk for most of our counties in SW. Arkansas, all of NW Louisiana including Shreveport-Bossier, and portions of E. Texas.
The main threats would be damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes. Hail threat stays low. It looks like the highe r risk of severe weather will stay east of us, but an isolated strong storm is what we are tracking, mainly this afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 70s, with clouds increasing throughout the day. The highest chance for rain comes in the evening hours. Make sure to have the First Alert Weather App downloaded to have alerts sent straight to your phone.
Increased storm chances will be after 2pm today, but before that there is the chance of seeing a few showers.
Most of the rain and storms will move out in the early morning hours of Tuesday. Highs will be in the low 70s with mostly sunny skies for Election Day.
We could see another rain maker move in Wednesday night and into Thursday. A few thunderstorms possible throughout the day Wednesday, otherwise mostly cloudy around the ArkLaTex. Highs in the upper 60s. Scattered showers and storms on Thursday high in the mid 60s, you will need the umbrella both days. Chance of rain Wednesday is 40%, Thursd ay is 60%.
Much cooler air moves into the forecast towards the end of next week, highs only in the upper 50s for Friday with partly cloudy skies. A few lingering showers are possible. Next Saturday looks dry with highs in the mid 50s. Upper 50s for Sunday with lots of sunshine.
Have a great day and stay weather aware!
