Axl Rose Slams Trump on Twitter for Having 'No Regard for Truth, Ethics, Morals or Empathy of Any Kind' Axl Rose of Guns N' Ro...
Axl Rose has zero respect for Donald Trump. The Guns N' Roses frontman made his stance about the current U.S. president clear in a series of tweets Sunday (Nov. 4), asserting that Trump has "no regard for truth, ethics, morals or empathy of any kind."
Two days before the upcoming midterm elections, Rose explained that Trump's administration has been employing "loopholes" to use GNR songs like "Sweet Child O' Mine" at political functions, even though the band has not given its consent.
"Just so ya know... GNR like a lot of artists opposed to the unauthorized use of their music at political events has formally requested r music not b used at Trump rallies or Trump associated events," he said. "Unfortunately the Trump campaign is using loopholes in the various venuesâ blanket performance licenses which were not intended for such craven political purposes, without the songwritersâ consent. Can u say 'shitbags?!'"
Rose added, "Personally I kinda liked the irony of Trump supporters listening to a bunch of anti Trump music at his rallies but I donât imagine a lot of âem really get that or care. And when ur phoneâs blowinâ up cuz peeps r seeinâ/hearinâ Sweet Child on the news at a rally... as a band we felt we should clarify r position."
Sunday evening, he made his opinion about Trump even more transparent.
"As far as Iâm concerned anyone can enjoy GNR 4 whatever reason nâ thereâs truth 2 the saying 'u canât choose your fans' nâ weâre good w/that," he tweeted. "Having said that my personal position is that the Trump administration along w/the majority of Republicans in Congress nâ their donors that support him 4 their own agendas r doing r nation a disservice."
"We have an individual in the WH that will say nâ do anything w/no regard for truth, ethics, morals or empathy of any kind, who says whatâs rea l is fake nâ whatâs fake is real. Who will stop at nothing 4 power feeding off the anger nâ resentment he sows 24/7 while constantly whining how whatever doesnât go his way is unfair," Rose wrote.
"Most of us in America have never experienced anything this obscene at this level in r lifetimes nâ if we as a country donât wake up nâ put an end 2 this nonsense now itâs something we definitely will all pay hard 4 as time goes on," he warned.
