The special edition Xbox One Armed Forces controller is returning once again. Following its initial run in 2014 (and subsequent re-release in 2015), Microsoft has announced it is launching a new iteration of the camo gamepad due to "popular demand," and it's slated to arrive next month, on August 14.
Dubbed the Armed Forces II controller, the new gamepad sports the same camouflage pattern as the previous incarnation, albeit this time it boasts a "hint of orange" on the Bind button. It also features a 3.5mm stereo jack, Bluetooth, textured grip, and all of the other features available in modern Xbox One controllers. You can take a look at the controller below.
In the US, the Armed Forces II controller will be available exclusively from Walmart and Microsoft Stores. Like most other special edition Xbox One controllers, it will retail for the slightly premium price of $70--$5 more than the cost of the original iteration. Microsoft says that "select markets" will also receive 14-day trials for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass along with the controller. You can pre-order one from the Microsoft Store here.
In addition to the Armed Forces II gamepad, Microsoft recent ly announced a cool-looking special edition Sport White Xbox One controller. That is scheduled to launch in the US and Canada later this month, on July 31, and will likewise retail for $70. Players will also be able to purchase a matching Sport White Xbox One controller charging stand for an additional $50.
